Tryouts have been completed and we are proud to announce that the following young ladies have accepted offers to play with the Atlanta Lady Celtics for the 2008 AAU season.

Team 1994 finishes 9th at the 2007 12U AAU National Championships!
Team 1994 placed 9th in the 2007 Nationals in Rochester, MN. This is the best finish for a 12U team from Georgia since 1996.
The team went 2-1 in pool play with wins against the New Jersey Sparks and Virginia Lady Neptunes to advance to the Championship Bracket.
In bracket play, the girls defeated the Oklahoma Select and Tennessee Team Pride. In the quarter-finals, they played Illinois Central Elite and lost by 2 points in overtime. The girls were eliminated by the Maryland Flames.
This years experience was excellent. The girls played better as the competition increased, they kept positive attitudes and played hard throughout.

Team 1994 wins 2007 YBOA 12U State Championship!
For the 3rd consecutive season, Team 1994 defeated the GA SD Lady Eagles (45-32) to capture the 2007 YBOA 12U State Championship! This is the 4th consecutive YBOA State Championship for Team 1994, and the most rewarding since the girls were able to bounce back from a disappointing performance in the 2007 AAU State Championships and re-establish themselves as the dominant team in Georgia.
Unlike previous years when the #2 team in Georgia did not participate, the 2007 YBOA State Tournament included all the top 12U teams in Georgia (SD Lady Eagles, Peak Performance, Forest Park Fury, Girls Inc.) as well as the top 11U team (Georgia Pistols). This event offered the best competition, and the Atlanta Celtics stepped up and took care of business!
In pool play, the girls defeated the GA SD Lady Eagles (56 – 48), Girls, Inc. (45 – 36) and Peak Performance Elite - Gold (58 – 42).

Team 1994 wins 2006 AAU 11U State Championship!
The Georgia Hawks - Team 1994 went 3-0 to bring home the 11U AAU State Championship.
The girls came from behind to defeat the Forest Park Fury (45 - 43), then beat the Georgia Pistols (44 - 27), and Georgia Pistols (55 – 42) to win the tournament.
Team 1994 has won two consecutive AAU State Championships!

Team 1994 wins 2006 YBOA 11U State Championship!
The Georgia Hawks - Team 1994 won the 11U YBOA State Championship this evening (5/16) with a win over the SED Lady Eagles (26 - 22) at GACS.
The girls were 4-0 overall with wins over the Georgia Peaches (40 - 24), Georgia Blazers (38 - 17), and Forest Park Fury (35 – 11).
Team 1994 has won three consecutive YBOA State Championships!

Team 1994 wins 2005 AAU & YBOA 10U State Championship!
The Northeast Atlanta Hawks - Team 1994 won the 10U AAU State Championship this afternoon with a win over the Georgia Pistols Gold at Morrow Middle School. The team jumped out 12-2 lead and never looked back.
The Hawks were clearly the dominant team during the tournament winning all 3 games by an average margin of 21 points. The girls were 3-0 overall with wins over the Runnin' Rebels (36-4), Georgia Pistols Gold (30-12) and Georgia Pistols Gold (34-20).
In the YBOA event, the Hawks dominated their pool with convincing wins over the Lady Titans (36-7), Atlanta Cagers (36-6) and N. Ga Eagles (37-4). In bracket play, the team defeated the Georgia Pearls (35-2) and SD Lady Eagles (19-9). In the championship game, the girls defeated the SD Lady Eagles 20-9 to bring home the hardware!
The team is the undisputed 10U champion having won both the AAU & YBOA State Championships. The team will now start preparations for the AAU National Championship tournament in Orlando 6/26- 7/4.

Team 1994 wins 2004 YBOA 9U State Championship!
The N.E. Atlanta Hawks 9U team won the YBOA State Championships this weekend at the Suwanee Sports Academy. The team played great and won all (3) games by overwhelming margins. The girls are undefeated this season against 9U competition, and have been very competitve against the 10U teams they have played. Congratulations Hawks!
